Why Celebrating CNA Week Is Important

Published: September 21, 2025

CNA Week (National Certified Nursing Assistant Week) is an annual tribute to the nurses in communities worldwide who are dedicated to their jobs and are the backbone of the healthcare industry. This year, CNA week is June 13-19th, and all week long, our team is committed to sharing positive experiences with nurses in our community and giving them the recognition their hard work deserves! Whether they are assistant school nurses, hospice nurses, travel nurses, or nurses in hospitals or other healthcare systems, our team appreciates you and is thankful for your dedication! Discover below why celebrating CNA Week is important and some fun ideas for celebrating CNA Week in 2024!

Gives CNAs The Recognition They Deserve

CNAs work hard each day. Giving them one week to honor them and thank them for all they do is not nearly enough! Recognizing their critical role in keeping operatories clean and up with the hygiene requirements, assisting patients with walking and mobility issues, preventing infections like COVID-19 and other viruses from spreading, and various other tasks often go unnoticed. And most importantly, no one can ever be thanked enough for supporting and caring for our most loved family members and friends when they are vulnerable and in need. CNAs deserve this recognition and appreciation from community members during CNA week, and it means more to them than we will ever know!

Promotes Awareness

Not many people know about certified nursing assistants and often think there are just RNs and LPNs in the healthcare field. Promoting awareness of these crucial caregivers in the healthcare industry is crucial for their confidence and dedication to patients worldwide. When nurses get appreciation from their community, it makes a difference and impacts how they work and their self-confidence. Nurses work hard every day to keep the ones we love safe and alive, so promoting awareness of all they do and why they care can be extremely beneficial for CNAs everywhere!

CNA Week Ideas For 2024

The following are some of the amazing ideas that would be great for honoring nurses this upcoming CNA week.

Staff Awards

Staff awards are a great way to give CNAs their own recognition. Hand them an award for certain qualities on a different day during CNA week. These can be for professionalism, kindness, teamwork, skill, patience, or care. Each nurse has their strengths, so honoring them and awarding them helps boost their confidence and lets them know you see all that they do.

CNA Recognition Ceremony

Hosting a ceremony to honor CNAs who are deserving of recognition is a great way to show them you care. Giving each nursing assistant a chance to have their name called in recognition of their hard work and allowing others to clap for them and cheer them on will make them feel important and good about themselves.

Persoanlized Thank You Cards

A personalized thank you given to a CNA who needs recognition is a great idea to celebrate this CNA week. Personalized handwritten notes or cards are much more meaningful than a text, email, or comment on social media or online.

Host A Lunch Appreciation

Putting together a lunch or breakfast appreciation for CNAs is a great way to show them how much you care. Decorate the lunch room or rent out a hall or function room to gather all the CNAs and other healthcare members. Make this lunch or breakfast about them and hand out little gift bags for swag bags with essentials for their self-care and well-being.
