Allison H. Newcombe

Allison H. Newcombe, 89, of Hingham, died December 29, 2018.

He was the husband of 66 years to Virginia (Archer}, father of Deborah Tucker and her husband Paul of Marlborough MA, Alison Newcombe and her partner Bruce of Tucson AZ, and Rebecca Newcombe and her husband John of Tucson, AZ. Grandfather of Brian Graney and wife Nikki, and three great grandchildren of Exeter NH.; also survived by brother Gerry Newcombe and wife Lillian of Concord NH, and their family. Pre-deceased by son Scott Newcombe. Raised by Harold and Leota Newcombe on Weir River Farm in Hingham, MA, where he developed a life-long love for vegetable gardening and working in the great outdoors. After graduating from Hingham High School, Al attended MIT, earning a degree in chemical engineering. He spent his early career working in research at the Quincy Ship Yard in Quincy, MA. followed by many years in international sales at Bird Machine Company, formerly  based in Walpole MA. Known for his spend-thrift ways, love of traveling, and sharing of knowledge on various (sometimes mundane) topics, Al will be remembered for his unique personality and will be dearly missed by his family. Memorial services are planned for the spring.
