Evelyn E. McAloon

Evelyn Elizabeth (Stead) McAloon, 95, of Milton, died Sunday (March 10) in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Milton following a short illness.

Born in Newfoundland, Canada, she moved to Lynn, Massachusetts, as a child and lived there for many years. She worked for many years as an underwriter for Fireman’s Fund in Boston, Mass.

Following her marriage in 1984 to the late Robert L. McAloon, she lived in Sandwich and Mashpee, Mass., and Naples, Florida. She moved to Milton in 2017 and was a resident of Fuller Village.

She enjoyed winters in Naples with her late husband and traveled widely with him in their retirement. She was active in the affairs of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Osterville, Mass., and sang in its choir.

She is survived by five stepchildren, Kathleen M. Convey of Brockton, Mass.; Timothy P. McAloon of Quincy, Mass.; Matthew McAloon of Dorchester, Mass.; Michael McAloon of Cantwell, Alaska; and Daniel McAloon of Sandy Hook, Conn, and their spouses, Kevin Convey,  Barbara J. Isola, Laura Maclean, Lynn McAloon and Michelle McAloon, and their children.

In addition, she is survived by her dear friend, Betty Joan Clemons of Bedford, New Hampshire, and many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private.
