Sandra "Sandi" Hockley Obituary

SHREWSBURY- Sandra “Sandi” Lee (McKinstry) Hockley, 65, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester. She was the beloved and devoted wife to Brien Hockley of Shrewsbury.

Born on May 19, 1953 in Framingham, into a family of ten children, she was the adored daughter of the late Robert F. and Mary T. (Coyle) McKinstry.

For much of her life, Sandi was employed in many different facets of the hospitality industry. Her passion for food and cooking led her to work in the businesses of catering, food service, and waitressing.

In her spare time, Sandi loved making delicious meals in the kitchen and also taking trips up north to Maine with her husband. She will be remembered for having the biggest heart and her willingness to do so much for others.  Most of all, Sandi enjoyed all of the time spent and memories made with her precious family and friends.

In addition to her husband of 30 years, Brien, Sandi is survived by her cherished and treasured children: Andrea Mullin and her husband, Rick, of Maynard and Joseph Marin and his wife, Leah, of Franklin. She was the doting grandmother to Tess and Justin Mullin of Maynard. Sandi will be greatly missed by her siblings: Pamela Enos, and her husband, David, of Plymouth; Laurie Fletcher of Hardwick, MA; Mary-Jo Benson and her husband, Richard, of Worcester; Jeff McKinstry of Narragnasett, RI; Diane Stoughton and husband, Robert, of Atlanta, Michigan; and also her sister Margaret McKinstry of Southbridge. Sandi also leaves behind 14 nieces and nephews, many close cousins, and numerous aunts and uncles, whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Sandi was predeceased by her late siblings: Bonnie; Robert (Mac); and Becky.

In accordance with her wishes, following cremation, a small celebration of life will be held with her immediate family.
