William “Billy” Bennett, 31 passed suddenly at home on Wednesday January 8, 2020. He was a longtime Quincy resident with family ties to ME and NH. He is preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Bennett and is survived by his loving father Brett Bennett of Lebanon ME, sister Amanda Kirschner and her husband Ladd Kirschner of Hanson, MA, niece Faith Kirschner, girlfriend Marjorie Hood of Lynn, MA and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves behind his best friend Alex Foley of Quincy, MA.
Billy enjoyed life and loved to party it up. He is known for his strength and his determination to live following a horrific attack in 2007 that rendered him quadriplegic and reliant on a mechanical ventilator for breathing. During this time he formed a very special friendship with Jonathan Hobbs of Shirley, MA who helped him adjust to his new life. They shared a special bond that has lasted throughout his final years.
Billy had a passion for cooking and prior to his attack worked at the Fowler House Cafe in Quincy. He also was a phenomenal skateboarder and loved to do daring jumps. He loved his family, girlfriend, friends, his cat Gwen and his dedicated service dog Buffy.
The family wishes to thank all of the many medical providers, agencies, nursing staff and pca’s who have been there, supporting his medical needs through the years.
Friends and family are welcomed to pay their respects Wednesday January 15th 10am-noon with celebration of life following viewing. Burial will be private.
