Adrienne Hill Obituary

Adrienne (Toledo) Hill of Tewksbury passed away peacefully at age 81 on September 8, 2024 after a long battle with C.O.P.D and a recent lung cancer diagnosis. She leaves her devoted husband of 40 years, Ron Hill, also of Tewksbury.

Adrienne was born in Lakewood NJ and grew up up in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston with her two brothers, Phillip Toledo and the late Bob Toledo. Theirs was a close knit community where lifelong friendships were formed. Adrienne graduated from Mission High School. Many important occasions like sacraments, gradations, and weddings were joyfully celebrated at the beautiful Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the heart of Mission Hill.

Adrienne eventually relocated to Dennis, MA on Cape Cod where she and her children enjoyed living near the ocean. Adrienne enjoyed her work at the Barnstable Superior Court House, County Commissioners Office where she was appointed the Chief Procurement Officer. Adrienne was also an active member of The Massachusetts Association of Public Purchasing Officials for many years. Adrienne was also an active member of the parish of Our Lady of the Cape where she shared her beautiful calligraphy talent to help with writing the Confirmation certificates for years. Everyone knew that distinctive handwriting which came to be expected and cherished.

Adrienne was a caring mother to the joys of her life, her three children. Adrienne is survived by Kim Brown and her husband Gary of Tewksbury, Todd Ryan and his wife Beth of Reading and Courtney Brunelle and her husband Jeremy of Jacksonville, FL.

After retiring, Adrienne and Ron moved to Tewksbury to be closer to 5 of their 8 grandchildren. She enjoyed attending their sporting events and school activities as they were growing up. Adrienne, notably known as “Bammy” by the grandchildren, was often there to help with pick ups and drop offs during the grandchildren’s many busy years playing sports and taking dance lessons. Good ol’ “Bammy” even helped with sewing names on the backs of youth hockey jerseys and was known as Bammy by all the grandchildren’s friends.

Adriennes eight grandchildren were the loves of her life and she was proud of them all. She was often caught putting money into their pockets at any given time. She is survived by Adriana Brown and her husband Sam Zwonitzer of New York City, Amanda Brown of San Diego, CA, Colby Brown of Tewksbury, MA, Kate and Jane Ryan of Reading, MA, R.J. Brunelle, Tyler Brunelle and Hunter Brunelle of Jacksonville Florida.

Burial will be private. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Adrienne’s name to Boys Town, her favorite charity.
