Ann Catherine (Connor) Sheedy, 92, of Milton, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
She was the daughter of the late Jerome and Catherine (Brady) Connor.
Ann is the beloved wife of James Sheedy of Milton, to whom she has been married for 72 years. She is the loving mother of Margaret Sheedy of Milton, Anne Marie Lynch and her husband John, of Franklin MA, James Sheedy his wife Joanne of Franklin and the late Mary Benoit who is survived by her husband John of Quincy.
Ann is the devoted sister of Joanne Joyce of Marshfield and the late Mary Mann, Jerome Connor, Francis Connor, Virginia Prout, Paul Connor. Devoted grandmother of Christine Getchell, John Benoit, Joseph Benoit, Michael Benoit, John Lynch, Justine Lynch, Joseph Sheedy and Matthew Sheedy. Great Grandmother of Dorothy Getchell, Ruth Getchell, Marilyn Benoit and James Benoit.
In 1999, Ann retired from the Carney Hospital Admissions Office. In retirement, she dedicated her time to providing support to parents and grandparents of autistic children. She was one of the founding members of the Grandparents Group at the Family Autism Center in Westwood.
Ann was truly interested and cared deeply about every person she met. She made sure everyone was comfortable and welcomed. She cherished keeping in touch through phone calls and conversations. For her entire family, she provided unwavering support and was always present in their lives. She had a strong conviction and always reminded her family to keep pushing forward and never lose hope.
A funeral Mass for Ann will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Saint Gregory Parish, 2223 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester at 11:00am. A visitation will begin at 10:00am at the church and will conclude at the start of the Funeral Mass. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
