Aurthur Hennessey Obituary

Arthur Charles Hennessey, "Art", 81 of Carver, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, surrounded by his family at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He was born in Quincy on January 19, 1945, to Frank and Edwina "Tootsie" Hennessey. He graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School where he was on the track team.

Art went on to live most of his life in Carver where he started his family in 1973. Art was a hard worker, establishing himself as an independent ceramic tile installer. He excelled in his trade and took great pride in his work, often proclaiming his jobs a "Work of Art", his motto and business slogan.

Art enjoyed spending time playing in men's softball leagues and coaching for the Carver Girls Softball League. He took pleasure in spending many summer evenings on the softball fields with his daughters and their teammates running practice drills and games. He always loved traveling and camping with family and friends. On most road trips, he always "knew a shortcut". Art will be remembered as a jokester and storyteller. Art was a member of the Church of the Vine in South Carver. He selflessly dedicated his time and energy to helping others within the community.

Art is predeceased by his wife Linda Hennessey (Piquette) and his ex-wife and friend Irene Crosby. He leaves behind his cherished daughters, Shawna Hennessey and Danielle Enos, her husband Ken Enos, along with his grandchildren Shane Hennessey, Devin Enos, and Tatyana Foggie, great grandchildren Owen, Nova, and Astria.  His step-children Robert Sheehan of Farmington, ME, Kerry Zingaro and husband Nicholas of Braintree, Robin Robbins and partner Stephen Winnett of Franklin and grandchildren Brittany Sheehan, Victoria Doughty, her husband Chris, Alexandria and Monaca Robbins, Paige Winnett, great grandchildren Louis and Delilah Doughty, his lifelong friend from high school Robert Ritchie and wife Cherie from Buzzards Bay, and his two beloved cats Goldie and Midnight.

He will be forever in his family's hearts.
