Cathleen Jane (Creamer) Graham, 89, of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024.
Cay, the beloved daughter of the late John and Margaret (Ryan) Creamer, was born on February 2, 1935 in Dorchester, MA. She grew up in the Savin Hill section of Dorchester and graduated from St. Williams Grammar School. In 1952, after graduating from St. Patrick High School in Roxbury where she met lifelong friends Mary Gordon and her sisters, Cay worked as a bookkeeper for A&P in South Boston, HEW Construction in downtown Boston, and Lee Kennedy Construction in Dorchester, MA. She raised her family in the Fields Corner area of Dorchester and moved to Stratford Avenue in Avon in 1972 to be down the street from the Fahey cousins whom she cherished dearly.
Her greatest pleasure was hosting gatherings of family, neighbors, and friends, for holidays, backyard cookouts, or just because. Cay will remain famous for injecting her fast wit and sense of humor into every conversation.
An avid reader, Cay consumed books. Her other favorite activities included ANY card game, candlepin bowling, cooking, and crocheting. Weekend traveling with her girlfriends brought Cay much joy and lots of laughs. A constant in her life was her love of Ted Williams of the Boston Red Sox.
Cay is survived by her daughter Cathleen Floyd and her wife Margaret Bachofner; and her sons William Floyd of Phoenix, AZ, and Michael Floyd of Bridgewater, MA; her brother Joseph Creamer and his wife Ellie of Hanover, MA; granddaughter Sarajane Linton and her husband Brandon of Waldorf, MD; grandson David Floyd and his wife Jordan of Phoenix, AZ; and great-granddaughter Aurora Linton. Cay also leaves a loving group of nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
She was predeceased by her son John Floyd of Bridgewater, MA, and her sisters, aka “The Creamer Girls”, Claire Viafora of Old Bridge, NJ, Carol Patterson of Dorchester, MA, and Maureen Garvey of West Warwick, RI.
Burial will be private. A celebration of Cay’s remarkable life will take place in February 2025 to coincide with what would have been her 90th birthday. In Memoriam donations can be made in her memory to Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
