Christine Keefe Obituary

Christine M. Keefe, 48, of Weymouth formerly of Quincy died January 4, 2025 following a short illness. She was the loving daughter of Ronald L. Keefe and Kathleen B. Lacey.

Born in Quincy, Christine moved with her family to Weymouth when she was in the 4th grade and attended Weymouth Schools. She went on to graduate from Cardinal Cushing High School in 1997, and formerly worked at Stop and Shop as well as the Big Brother, Big Sister organization where she was a telephone operator. Christine later attended some adult day programs as she increasingly experienced mental illness, which she struggled with for most of her beautiful life.

Christine will long be remembered for her unwavering devotion to the Lord our God, her exceptionally sweet and kind disposition, her fierce loyalty to those she loved, and her amazing sense of humor...she was wonderfully goofy, outgoing, and friendly all at the same time. She also loved to dance and sing karaoke -especially anything by her favorite artist, Madonna- and she loved making dinner-date plans with family; many times getting her favorite dish, shrimp scampi. She never passed up an opportunity to get her favorite iced coconut coffee from Dunkin’s.

She was extremely close with her grandparents, and had a special bond with her aunt, Patty, spending many days together swimming at her grandparents lake house in Plymouth on White Island Lake. She loved children, and was also very close with her nieces and nephews, who she cared for deeply. Christine enjoyed wearing her make-up and especially loved her trademark red lipstick, which she was rarely without.

Christine was a talented artist who would draw simply for pleasure; creating many cartoons over the years, which her family will always cherish along with their indelible memories of her.

Devoted daughter of Kathleen Lacey of Weymouth, and Ronald Keefe and his wife Vanessa of Plymouth. Cherished granddaughter of Eugene Lacey, Sr. of Quincy, the late Florence Lacey, and the late Jacqueline Keefe. Loving sister of Kelly Zukowski (her twin) and her husband Rob Zukowski of East Bridgewater, the late David Keefe, and Shauna Sweeney and her husband Patrick Sweeney of Hanson.  Dear aunt of the late Joshua Zukowski, Brennen Keefe, Nevaeh Zukowski, Cameron Sweeney and Kelsey Sweeney. She was the niece of Janice Langton, the late William Keefe, the late Dennis Keefe, the late Terrence Keefe, Patty Keefe, Eugene Lacey, Jr., Patricia Westhaver and Steven Lacey. Also survived by many cousins, extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her visiting hours at Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock St, Quincy, on Tuesday January 7, 2025 from 4:00-7:00pm. Funeral Mass Wednesday January 8th in Sacred Heart Church of Divine Mercy Parish, 386 Hancock St, Quincy, beginning at 10:00am. Cremation will follow, with a private family interment planned at Fairmont Cemetery, Weymouth, at a later date. Donations in Christine’s memory may be made in lieu of flowers to: Massachusetts Association for Mental Health (MAMH) 50 Federal St, 6th Floor, Boston, MA 02110 or online at: mamh.org
