Christine Soule Obituary

Christine Josephine Soule, 76, of Quincy formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully at home on the afternoon of Sunday September 7, 2025 following a period of declining health. She was the loving daughter of the late Maria (Chiofolo) Benatuil.

Born in Somerville, Christine was raised in Dorchester and graduated Dorchester High School as a member of the class of 1966.

Chris worked behind the customer service desk at Planet Fitness on Adams Street in Quincy for many years where she was affectionately known as “Mom” to many of the club’s members. She thoroughly enjoyed her time there and only retired in 2024 due to complications of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in May of that year.

She loved her feline companions having many cats over the years, and had an appreciation for all kinds of different food -especially Italian and Chinese cuisines- She loved going to the beach and taking her dogs for long walks there, but her favorite times were those spent in the company of her loving family.

She is survived by her former husband and best friend of 59 years, John J. Doran, of Quincy. Loving mother of Joe Doran and his companion Carrie McCarthy of Carver, Mark Doran and his wife Maria of Braintree, and Kristen Doran-Sommers of Quincy. Cherished grandmother of Zack Doran of Rhode Island, Adryana Doran and Joslyn Somers, both of Quincy, and Max Doran of Braintree. Step-sister to Leo and Steven Benatuil, both of Hyde Park.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend memorial visiting hours on Wednesday September 17, 2025 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock Street, Quincy, during which time a Catholic wake service will be held beginning at 3:45pm.
