David P Ritchie

David P. Ritchie, 78, formerly of Quincy, MA passed away at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth MA on November 12, 2024.

David is predeceased by his mother, Ann W. (Olsen) Ritchie and his father, George H. Ritchie.

David was born in Quincy, MA in 1946. Attended the Braintree Schools and went on to join the Merchant Marines where he went to sea and traveled the world for many years.

He is lovingly remembered by his close friend and former Merchant Marines shipmate, Augustine (Jay) Daley of Kittery, Maine.

He enjoyed reading and drawing in his free time. He was also an enthusiastic outdoorsman, with an interest and respect for nature and wildlife.

A memorial service will be held at Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02170 on Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 12:00pm-2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in David’s name to a charity of your choice.
