David Sekac, 69, of Pittsfield MA passed away on September 13th, 2024 under the care of Berkshire Hospice.
David is survived by his sisters Marny Janson, Nancy Swanson and Linda Sekac (Larry Torto), along with his nephews Jon Torto, Matthew Panuska (Nicole Panuska), niece Caroline Janson, great nephews Cameron and Nate Panuska and his great niece Olivia Panuska.
The son of the late Edward and Muriel Sekac, David was raised in West Islip NY before moving to Madison CT and later in life to Pittsfield MA.
David enjoyed life and pursued his varied interests to the fullest. He was a championed painter ball competitor and avid geo-casher. He loved animals and had adopted a number of beloved dogs and cats into his home. He also loved international travel. David made several trips to England and Scotland and visited the Maya ruins in Mexico, where he attended a bull fight. His most memorable adventure was walking the length of Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland, England.
David was also an accomplished photographer, having belonged to the CT shoreline photography club and studied at the New York School of Photography. He combined his love of photography with his fascination with history, which can be seen in his framed pictures and greeting cards which he displayed/sold at various craft fairs in New England, where he won various awards for his work.
David’s love for his family, his subtle charm and devilish sense of humor are already missed by those who knew and loved him.
Per David’s wishes there will be no memorial service. It is suggested donations in his memory be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, 877 South St, Suite 1W, Pittsfield MA 01201, Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Rd. Pittsfield, MA 01201 or Tunnels to Towers.
