Edward Burke

Edward Burke died at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Milton on Thursday February 20, 2025 following a long illness.

He is survived by his wife Mary E Burke. Loving father of Joseph Burke(Brittany) and granddaughter Harper Burke. Pre-deceased by his brother Adrian Burke and sister Denise Hannon.  Loving Uncle to William Hannon of Canton. 

Edward was born in Boston and raised in Mattapan. He graduated from Boston Technical High School as valedictorian in 1972. Edward was a 1976 graduate of Boston College and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk Law School in 1988.

Edward’s true passion was teaching. He taught mathematics in the Milton School system for 35 years. He retired in 2011. He also enjoyed coaching youth and high school sports in both the Weymouth and Milton communities. Edward enjoyed watching all sports especially his beloved Boston Red Sox. He was a season ticket holder.

Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church 1203 Commercial Street, Weymouth MA 02189 on Saturday March 1, 2025 at 10:30am.
