Elaine Abelsky Bortnick

Elaine Bortnick of Hingham passed away on July 27, 2024. She was the loving wife of Dr. Louis Bortnick and beloved mother of Karen Bortnick, Robert Bortnick and Lisa Bortnick Noble and cherished grandmother of Michael Bortnick, Anna Bortnick, Dana Noble and Isaac Noble. Elaine earned her Associate degree, as a dental hygienist and for many years worked alongside her husband running the family dental practice.

Elaine enjoyed spending her summers on Lake Winnipesaukee where she was a swim instructor at two different camps. She was beloved by both campers and counselors. While Elaine enjoyed her work and her summers, she most valued caring for family and sharing in their happiness. Elaine was truly a selfless woman who dedicated her life to caring for others.

Elaine was deeply spiritual following the early passing of her first child. She was brave, she was an inspiration to her family and friends, she was all that was love, and she will be deeply missed.

Services will be private. We encourage those that were fortunate to have Elaine in their life, to gather with those they are close to and raise a glass to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice that promotes love and healing.
