George Hicks Obituary

George R. Hicks of Quincy passed away Jan 2nd after a brief Illness. George was 78 years old and raised in Houghs Neck. Son of the late Frank H. and Elenor (Vardaro) Hicks. Brother of Dorothy Rodden and her husband Uncle Red of Wey, Janet Reynolds and Frances Boyle both of Quincy. George was the devoted father of Victoria Hicks and her partner Steven Gamble of Quincy and Pamela McKeown of Altamont Springs, FL. Grandpa to Tina, Amy, Jordan and Sean. Also survive by many nieces and nephews and Companion to Rose Brady of Quincy.

George lived a full life educated in Quincy and enlisting U.S. Marines in 196-1964 as a rifleman. He took part in the Bay of Pigs conflict. He was stationed in Alaska and Iceland. George then joined the Teamsters Union with Browning-Ferris Industries and BJ’s Wholesale Club. George waterskied Quincy Bay and was an avid Pats fan. He will be missed by all who knew him.
