James “Jim” R Curtis, 74, of Quincy, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Royal Rehabilitation of Braintree. James was born and raised in Hyde Park where he attended Hyde Park High School. After moving to Quincy James was employed as an officer for the Public Health Department in the city of Boston where he took great pride in his job until his retirement.
Jim enjoyed watching NASCAR, listening to classic rock, telling stories, and laughing with friends and family.
Jim was the beloved son of the late Robert and Catherine (Kelleher) Curtis. Jim is survived by his devoted daughter Nicole Vey and her husband Bill of Plymouth. He is the proud grandfather of Vera Vey of Plymouth. Jim is the cousin of Jean Kelleher of Norwood.
Visitation will be held at Hamel-Lydon Chapel at 650 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02170 on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 9:00am-11:30am. A Catholic prayer service will follow the visiting hours at the funeral home. Burial at Fairview Cemetery, 46 Fairview Avenue, Hyde Park, MA 02136.
