Jean M. McPherson 94, went home to the Lord, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday January 27th, 2026. Born to the late John and Blanche McPherson on May 27th, 1931, a loving sister to her five brothers. Born and raised in Boston, MA, she was a long-time resident of Dorchester.
Jean worked for over 30 years for the St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a volunteer for St. Anne Church in Dorchester. An avid mystery reader and lover of travel, she was passionate about animals and giving back. Jean was creative and generous, among her many wonderful qualities. She is survived by a large number of family and friends in Quincy and the surrounding area. Jean was very loved and will surely be missed.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 9, 2026 at Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock Street Quincy from 10:00am-11:am. Burial will follow at Holyhood Cemetery, 584 Heath Street Chestnut Hill.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or MSPCA Boston to honor Jean's love for giving back.
