Jeanette Chiappetta, 80, of Norwell, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024, after a long battle with dementia. She was born on December 16, 1943, in Quincy, MA, to the late Arthur and Leonora Webber, formerly of Weymouth.
Jeanette grew up in North Quincy and graduated from North Quincy High School in 1961. In April 1958, at the age of 14, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, a faith she cherished throughout her life. She devoted nine years as a full-time minister and carried her "pioneer spirit" with her always, boldly and joyfully sharing her love for Jehovah.
Jeanette's primary focus in life was her hope for the future based on the Bible, as found at Revelation 21:4 and John 5:28,29. This promise of a peaceful future gave her strength and joy, shaping her outlook and inspiring her to share her faith with others.
Jeanette was known for her warmth, determination, inquisitiveness and love of hearing a “good story”. An adventurous spirit, Jeanette enjoyed bike riding, kayaking, skiing, dancing, singing, and playing cards. She found joy in cooking and sewing when time allowed. Most of all, she cherished spending time with the people she loved most—her family and friends.
A natural problem solver, Jeanette had a technical mind and began working with computers in the early 1990s, a field she approached with her characteristic curiosity and skill.
Jeanette is survived by her beloved husband, Vinnie Chiappetta, and her daughter, Julia Smith, and her husband, Dan, of Norwell. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Webber, of Weymouth; her nephew, Joel Webber, and his wife, Bernadette, of Middleboro; her niece, Lindsey Sawyer, and her husband, Mike, of Natick; and her mother-in-law, Ann Palmer, of Plymouth.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to a memorial talk celebrating Jeanette's life at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Holbrook (314 North Franklin St) on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 3 p.m.
