Jeffrey Bell Obituary

Jeffrey Michael Bell, 53, of Scituate, passed away in the loving arms of his wife, Kellie (Murphy Roche) Bell, on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham after fighting the most courageous battle with cancer.

Jeff graduated from South Shore Vocational Technical School in 1989 and went on to graduate from the American Marine Institute in Daytona, FL. He then completed multiple certifications in fuel systems management and environmental remediation.

For the past 22 years, Jeff was a Teamster and specialist in the petroleum industry. He was the exclusive technical expert for the Boston Police Department, Boston Fire Department, Boston Department of Conservation and Recreation, Massachusetts Department of Transportation, and Massport.

Above all of his amazing accomplishments, he took the greatest pride in being an incredible father to his children: Ryan Bell, Kaleigh Bell, and Erin Bell, all of Marshfield. Jeff’s children were the light of his life and inherited all of his greatest qualities. Every good thing about him can be found in each one of them. Some of his favorite moments were out on the water fishing with them or tinkering in the garage.

He was the loving stepfather to Jacquelyn MacDougall of Weymouth, Cassie Raphel of Taunton, and Reilly Roche of Merrimack, NH. Together, they shared a love of mischief. His loving nature brought the family together.

He was the soulmate of, and best friend to, his wife Kellie. Together, they enjoyed a love of classic cars, corvettes, doing home improvement projects, spending time on the water, quiet nights at home, and just being together in front of a fire with their beloved dog, Teddy.

Behind his quiet reserve was a man of true integrity, sensitivity, and humble selflessness.
Jeff will be remembered as always knowing something about everything. He could answer any question, fix anything, and would drop everything to help anyone. If you wanted to find him, he was probably with the people he loved while he was restoring a car or boat motor, or perhaps watching MotorTrend. No matter what, he was easy to be around and easy to love.

He is survived by his loving parents, Rick and Alice (Mahoney) Bell, of Plymouth; brother Andrew Bell of Alpharetta, GA; and sister Samantha Bell of Newton. He was uncle to McKinley, Madison, Brooks, Caroline, and Leah. He couldn’t wait to be a new Grandfather to Baby MacDougall arriving in December, and his family cannot wait to tell stories of “Cap’” when he arrives.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 19, at United Church of Christ in Norwell. All are welcome to celebrate the amazing person that Jeff was.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeff's memory to Norwell VNA & Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061.
