Jeffrey Blair Shick

Jeff passed away on March 11th, 2021 at the age of 57.  The oldest child of Sondra and Blair Shick. Jeff was born in Philadelphia, PA and spent his early childhood in Augusta, GA and Miami, FL. Just before his 6th birthday, Jeff and family moved to Newton, MA, where he graduated from Newton North High School (1981). In 1998, Jeff married Karen Shick (née Coska). They then moved to Framingham, MA, where their son Benjamin was born in 2000. Jeff embraced fatherhood with great enthusiasm. He was immensely proud of Ben and much loved by Ben’s many friends. Since 2012, Jeff was a valued and cherished member of the accounting firm Gray, Gray & Gray, where he formed many close relationships.

Jeff was a kind and loving soul with a big heart, a sunny disposition and boundless capacity for joy. Generous to a fault, he was always ready to help someone in need, whether friend or stranger. He often donated both time and money to those in need, including through the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program and the Wounded Warrior Project. Jeff had an impish and goofy sense of humor and would go to great lengths for a smile, even if that meant poking fun at himself. Jeff especially loved to play games of all kinds, from classic board games, such as Blokus and Risk, to elaborate and rambunctious swimming pool games. He was a longtime Ultimate Frisbee enthusiast who played off and on since the mid 1990s on a team called The Demons. More recently, he became very involved in Yoga, practicing nearly every day.

Jeff is survived by his son Ben, dear friend and former wife Karen, mother Sondra, brother Courtney (Carol), sister Liz (Dom), siblings-in-law Michael, Diane and Teresa, beloved nieces and nephews Jonathan, Ashley, Jennifer, Rebecca, Amanda, and Justin, Also survived by his loving girlfriend Anne Collins, aunts, uncles and cousins and countless devoted friends. He is predeceased by his father Blair and nephew Sean.
