John P Fahey, age 67 of Weymouth, passed away Monday, May 13, 2025. He was born at St. Joseph Hospital, Chicago, Illinois to the late the Michael J. "Joe" Fahey and Mary Fahey of County Galway, Ireland. He was raised and educated in Quincy, attending St. Joseph’s School and Quincy Vocational Technical School, where he studied the Plumbing trade. He was a proud member of Local 12 Plumber’s Union. He also used his trade to help family and friends when needed. Johnny had a passion for football, playing on both youth and high school teams, which led to his calling to coach Pop Warner football, having cherished many years coaching the Quincy Point Panthers football team. John will be remembered for his love of animals, especially dogs, extraordinary sense of humor, and above all, his kind and generous heart.
John is survived by his siblings, Mary Dealy and her husband George of Millis, Margaret Benkart and her husband Peter of Scituate, Annie Martin and her husband Sean of Braintree and the late James J. Fahey; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation which will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 10:00am-11:30am, with a prayer service at 11:30 am at the Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02066. Burial will follow after service to Pine Hill Cemetery, 815 Willard Street, Quincy, M.A. 02169.
