Joseph Patrick Aylward, III, Aged 67, passed away on September 18, 2024, in Boston, MA. Also known as Joe, and Joey, he was born in Roxbury, on January 8, 1957. Attended and graduated Boston Public Schools, followed by an enlistment and time served in the United States Army.
Joe was the beloved son of the late Joseph (Butch) Aylward, II, Mary (Honey Aylward) Kielczweski, and stepson of John (Jack) Kielcweski.
Joe is survived by his children, Jillian Polvere, Joey Gilbride and his stepdaughter, Grace Baker. Brother to Roy Aylward of Palm Coast, FL, sister Cathy Bell, of Davenport, FL, sister Barbara Creighton and husband Patrick of Bridgewater, sister Marianne (Yanna) Capps of Mansfield, and sister Michelle Igo and husband, Stephen Igo of Braintree, MA. Joe was also survived by his four grandchildren, Nicholas, Lily , Maxwell, and Madison.
He was a loving brother, father, uncle, cousin, and dear friend to so many. Joe will be remembered most for his generosity, and kind heart. He loved attending the theatre, but more so enjoyed attending with friends and family. He loved his summers on Martha’s Vineyard.
Self-taught, and motivated to bring a small dream to reality, Joey was the proud owner of South Shore Chimney, for over a decade. During that time, he hired friends and family to help build his business, and in his own way was giving back to those supporting him without even realizing it.
An avid reader, Joe could put his nose in a book and would finish it in a day when he dedicated his time to reading which was one of his favorite past times, second to cooking. Joe loved cooking for family, and friends and held numerous Chef’s positions throughout the years. Joe just loved to cook and found peace anytime he was in the kitchen.
In life, he was a proud member of AA and made lifelong friendships in the halls of the program. He had a gift and was able to guide people to Sobriety, and never took credit for his special ways. To know Joe, was to love Joe. He was the most respectful person, even in his darkest days.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock St, Quincy. Joe will be laid to rest on Thursday, October 17, 2024, (Graveside only), at 10:00 a.m., Evergreen Cemetery, 1100 Washington Street, Stoughton, MA 02072.
