Judith Rose Marie (Noonan) Ferreira, 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, after a period of failing health.
Judy was the daughter of the late Bob and Bess (Flaherty) Noonan. She was raised in Dorchester then moved to Milton in 1957. She attended St. Gregory School in Dorchester from kindergarten through High School, then went on to graduate from Cardinal Cushing College in Brookline with an English Elementary degree. She then taught third grade in the Boston Public School system. While living in Milton Judy met a kindred soul, Joe Ferreira, and they married in 1967, and moved to Quincy, where she resided ever after. They raised two sons, James and Joseph Ferreira. Being a mom was the joy and fulfillment of Judy’s life.
She loved to read, go to movies, and walk at the beach, especially at Cape Cod National Seashore, Hull and Castle Island. She delighted in the view of the ocean, Wollaston beach, from her window. Judy loved the City of Quincy and all its nooks and crannies.
Judy was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Ferreira who passed away in 1989. She was the devoted mother of the late James Ferreira and the late Joseph Ferreira. Judy is the most wonderful grandma to Lucas M. Ferreira of Jonesboro, GA, with whom she shared many amazing adventures. Lucas was the joy of her life and the delight of her days. She is the sister of late David Noonan of Centerville and the late Robert J, Noonan, Jr. and the late Mary Limauro. Judy is also survived by ten nieces and nephews. Judy also leaves behind many great lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, please give to the charity of your choice in Judy's name.
