Karen O'Connell Obituary

Karen Paula (Kelly/Clasby) O'Connell, 76, of Osprey, Florida, passed away on December 28, 2023, from an intracerebral hemorrhage, with her loving family by her side.

Karen was born to Charles H. and Florence L. (Sadoski) Kelly on May 9, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts, grew up in Jamaica Plain and lived most of her life in Massachusetts before retiring from her position as auditor at Sears Service Center in Norwell and moving with her husband, Christopher to Osprey, Florida.

Karen was adored by all who met her due to her kind and caring nature, her magnetic personality and great sense of humor. She had an impeccable sense of style, a natural flair for interior decorating, was a master bargain shopper, an avid lover of music and a fabulous dancer. Karen was a wonderful woman who selflessly gave her brother 20 more years of life by giving him her kidney. She courageously battled her diagnosis of (the rarest form of) Primary Progressive Aphasia like a rockstar--earning her the much-deserved title of the Badass Rockstar Queen Mumma. She was a true angel on Earth and she's now an angel flying with her beloved butterflies.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Christopher G. O’Connell. Beloved mother of Tina M. Forbes and her husband, Charles of Malden, MA, Kimberly A. Lemieux and her fiancé, Joseph Hauck of Escondido, CA, Robert F. Clasby and his wife, Jem of San Diego, CA, Brendan J. O’Connell and his wife, Tina of Wareham, MA and the late Chrisann C. O’Connell. Adored sister of the late Anne Moore, Theresa LaVoie and her husband, Ralph of Norton, MA, Patricia Cahill and her husband, William of Norton, MA and the late Kevin Kelly. She was the proud grandmother of Courtney, Derrick, Michael, Thomas, Sam, Kailee, Josselyn, Stacy, Amanda, Ben, Tara, Rebecca and great-grandmother of Blair and Scarlett.
