Kay Woo, age 87, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025 at Royal Braintree Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on April 5, 1938, in Guangdong, China, to 胡達堯 and 陳翠英. He lived in Hong Kong for 30 years. He married in the 1960s and worked as a mechanic in various construction sites and shipyards. In 1985, he moved to the U.S. with his family. He worked in a restaurant and eventually became a chef. He retired in early 2000s.
He was reserved man and maintained a low-profile lifestyle. However, he was a handy man who took care of his house and enjoyed planting vegetables in his backyard. He worked very hard to raise his family of 4 children.
He is survived by his wife Lai Ching; four children, Ivy, Joyce, Karl & Kafai; son-in-law, Kin; daughter-in-law, Eunice; and three grandchildren, Calvin, Justin & Martin.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Kay's Visiting Hours on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 9:30am-10:30am at Hamel-Lydon Chapel 安泰殯儀館, 650 Hancock Street, Quincy. Funeral Service to begin at 10:30am. Procession for the family to follow for interment at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a collation luncheon at Ming’s Restaurant in Quincy at 12pm.
