Obituary

Lawrence H. Linehan, 94, of Framingham passed away on April 26, 2023. Born on August 22, 1928 to Richard and Alice Linehan of Cambridge, MA, he was predeceased in 2012 by his wife of 62 years, Claire T. Linehan; and his siblings Edward Linehan, Joseph Linehan, and Edna Linehan Ready.  He leaves his children: Susan Tierney (John) of Maine, Lawrence Linehan (Jeannette) of Leicester, Kevin Linehan (Deb) of Upton, Richard Linehan (Lisa) of Millbury, and Marianne Haley (Frank) of Framingham; and his 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren who knew him as Pa.

Larry was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy.  Following his service, he received a BS in Business Administration from Boston University in 1956.  He was employed by SDC for many years, assisting MIT in the development of computer programs for the Apollo Guidance System.  He ended his career as a project manager for Bolt Beranek and Newman.

He enjoyed WWII history and artifacts, craft modeling, playing ice hockey in his younger years, and was a collector of eclectic odds and ends.  His moniker among family was Earl Handy, possessing every nut and bolt known to man - along with the matching wrenches! He was known for his quick wit and unique sense of humor.  He will be missed but the stories will surely live on.

At his request, services are private.
