Lien Thi Ta (謝嬋蓮), age 89, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Born in Vietnam, Lien married Hoa La in 1960. Together they built a loving family and raised seven children. After Hoa's passing in Vietnam in 1993, Lien immigrated to the United States in 1994 to begin a new chapter of her life surrounded by her family.
Lien was a strong, independent, and resilient woman whose greatest devotion was to her children and grandchildren. Her unwavering love, determination, and sacrifice helped shape the lives of those she cherished most.
A vibrant and energetic woman, Lien enjoyed spending time with friends and looked forward to socializing at VietAID Adult Day Health and later at Rainbow Adult Day Health Care in Dorchester. She treasured these friendships and the joy and companionship they brought to her daily life. She also enjoyed simple leisure activities, including playing slot machines, which brought her moments of fun and relaxation.
Nothing brought Lien greater pride than her family. She delighted in speaking about her twelve grandchildren and often shared how proud she was that they spoke Chinese fluently and embraced Chinese traditions, culture, and cuisine. Above all, she found comfort in knowing that future generations would continue to honor and remember their roots and heritage.
Lien is survived by her beloved children: Mai and her husband Ken; Phuong and her husband David; Dwayne and his wife Yenming; Peggy and her husband Andy; Quan and her husband Brian; Vince and his wife Tuyet; and Kenneth. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Kevin and his wife Ashly, Jason, Janice, Whitney, Tiffany, Edison, Shirley, Stephanie, Edwin, Felix, Ian, and Ivan. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion and will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Tirrell Room (安泰大禮堂), 254 Quarry Street, Quincy, MA 02169. Eulogies and the Casket Closing Ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m.
