Maogong Zheng 郑懋公

Maogong Zheng, 89, of Boston, Massachusetts, formerly of Beijing, China, passed away at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, in the morning of April 5th, 2023. 

Born on July 23rd, 1933, he was a well accomplished geologist in China. Besides his work, he taught himself of playing violin. He also loved to make sweet rice wine. He was passionate to travel which led him to the Geology major in the college. He had travelled every corner of mainland China, except Tibet. He also enjoyed his many trips to Europe and Caribbean cruise. He moved to the United States in 2001 to be closer to his daughter’s family.

Maogong was a devoted husband of Man Li. They’ve been married for almost 64 years. He is survived by his wife Man Li of Boston MA; his son, Fang Zheng of Dallas TX and his wife Shuxian Wang; his daughter Ping Zheng of Concord MA and her husband Dong Hsu. He was a proud grandfather of Lucy Zheng of Austin TX and Sarah Hsu of Evanston IL.

A private family funeral service will be held at Hamel-Lydon Chapel (安泰殯儀館), 650 Hancock Street, Quincy on April 12th, 2023, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A procession will follow to Blue Hill Crematory.
