Margaret Colleton (Stapleton), 70, of Attleboro, MA, passed away on May 22, 2021, following a brief illness.
Margaret was born on October 26, 1950, in Newfoundland, Canada. Margaret was very proud of her Canadian heritage and she loved returning to visit her family and friends whenever she could.
Margaret emigrated from Canada to Massachusetts when she married the love of her life, William Colleton, in 1970. Bill and Meg settled in Quincy, MA where they made a loving home for themselves and their cherished daughters, Mary Ann and Dorothy. Bill and Meg enjoyed 29 years of marriage until Bill’s passing in 1999.
Margaret was blessed to find love again with her husband and partner of over 10 years, William Grogan. Margaret and William spent their years together in Ringe, NH, where they made their home a joyous place for family and friends from near and far to come and spend time together. Margaret and William were in love together until his passing in 2014.
Margaret’s greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them as well as with her extended Canadian and American families and friends. Meg or Margie, as she was affectionately known, had an infectious laugh as well as a true love of fun and good times that will be so sorely missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Margaret is survived by her loving daughters, Anita Lockyer and her husband, Harry Lockyer of St John’s, Newfoundland; Mary Ann Staskywicz (nee Ambuter) and her husband, Karl Staskywicz of Newport News, VA and Dorothy J DePalma and her husband, Michael DePalma of Attleboro, MA.
She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Adam Ambuter, Amanda Ambuter, Madeline DePalma, Maria Lockyer and Marisa Montenegro as well as by her beloved siblings, June Burt; Maryann Drake and her husband, Patrick; Edward Stapleton and his wife, Marie; Jerry Stapleton and his wife, Carol. Her former son-in-law, Edward Ambuter and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Dorothy Stapleton and her brothers, Leo and Sylvester Stapleton.
