Margaret M. “Mickey” Whitney 

Margaret M. Whitney, 96, formerly of Andover and Ocala, Florida died Tuesday, August 2nd at Windsor Place in Wilmington, Ma. 

Mickey was the wife of the late Chester F. Whitney, Jr. and partner of the late Albert Farrey. 

Born January 21, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Hunt and Catherine (Preston) Hunt of Chelmsford. 

Mickey was employed by the food services department at the Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical School and retired in 1986 to Ocala, Florida, returning home in 2012. She was also a homemaker and caregiver for most of her life. She was a kind, compassionate woman who always had an extra seat at her table. She was fun loving; she enjoyed playing games, practical jokes and dressing up for Halloween. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially family vacations at Willoughby Lake in Vermont and traveling and camping in the family motorhome. 

She leaves two daughters, Linda L. Bertino and her husband Lance of Hanson and Lesley A. Durant and her husband Donald of Andover and two sons, Lloyd A. Whitney of Salem, N. H.and Wayne B. Whitney and his wife Charito of South Paris, Maine. She is survived by four grandchildren: Andrew Bertino and his wife Kelley of South Portland, Maine, Richard Bertino of Carver, Amy Yuschik and her husband Cory of Wakefield, Jason Durant and his wife Fallon of Wilmington; five great-grandchildren: Kira and Calista Yuschik, Vera and Lance Bertino and Winter Durant. She leaves two sisters: Barbara Scalley of Woburn and Nancy McDevitt of Tewksbury and one brother, Dennis Hunt of Chelmsford. She was mother of the late Robert R. Whitney and Chester F. Whitney III and grandmother of the late Laura Whitney and sister of the late Bernard Hunt, Eileen Lewis, Estelle McCarthy, Winifred Rutledge, Mary Claire Sullivan and Gerald Hunt.

Following cremation, memorial services will be private.
