Marie C.(Boles) Butler aged 94, passed away peacefully on Monday November 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 24, 1930 in Boston, Ma., Marie was the daughter of the late Catherine F. (McCarthy) Boles and James G. Boles, LT-BFD.
Marie was preceded in death by her former husband, Edwin I. Butler, sister Eleanor (Pasquale) Macrillo, and brother James W. (Geraldine) Boles.
Marie was proud of her hometown of Dorchester where she grew up. She graduated from Dorchester High School for Girls and raised her four daughters in Dorchester. After retirement, Marie resided in Milton, MA at Winter Valley where she lived for more than thirty years amongst her many loving friends. She found great joy in her gardening projects, photography, exercise class and projects benefiting the homeless. Her biggest passions were her love for animals and rooting for The New England Patriots.
Marie leaves behind her daughters Lorraine (Michael) Grant, Port Charlotte, FL, Carol (William) Cameron, Plymouth, MA, Maureen (John) Carey, Quincy, MA, and Kathleen Spicer, Port Charlotte, FL, ten grandchildren and six great - grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held at Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA. On Friday November 8, 2024, from 10:00am till 12:00noon. to be immediately followed by a Catholic Prayer service. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
