Maryann Doherty Obituary

Maryann Doherty of Quincy,  passed away peacefully on Monday March 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Boston, she was one of the beloved daughters of the late Mary and William Foley. Maryann was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend who cherished her loved ones.

Maryann was predeceased by her twin brother William, and her brothers Joseph, Michael, and Johnny Foley.

She is survived by her daughters Sharon Fleming, Tammi Doherty, and Erica Loucks, and her son-in-law Eric Loucks. She leaves behind her treasured grandchildren James, Maggie, Meghan, Molly, Riley and Steven.

Maryann was deeply loved by her sisters, the anchors of her life, Patricia McCarthy, Frances Skerritt, Dolly Powers, Helen Valente, and Susan Foley. They surrounded her with laughter and loyalty, and they shared a love that carried her through. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews across generations, who loved her dearly.

Maryann will be remembered for her strong will, her witty sense of humor, her unmistakable personality, and her love of all things Betty Boop. She was particular in her ways, always knew what she wanted, and wasn’t afraid to say it. She never forgot a birthday and made sure the people she loved always felt remembered.

She found joy in life’s simple comforts—relaxing in her slippers and cheetah print pajamas while watching her favorite recorded shows. She loved keeping up with her family through Facebook, or by asking for pictures and videos to save and cherish. And she especially loved staying connected, often calling her loved ones not just once, but two or even three times in a row, just to talk and wrap up the phone call with “to be continued…”

Maryann’s humor, her spirit, and her presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Goodnight Irene.
