It is with deep sorrow and much love that we share the sad news of the passing of Maureen (Dunn) Smith of Quincy on Monday, June 2, 2025. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
Maureen was the beloved daughter of the late Robert L. and Mary Dunn. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard Thomas Smith with whom she shared forty years of marriage. A cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Maureen loved the beach, gardening, and reading, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Maureen is survived by her four children, Charles R. Smith and his wife Elizabeth of Salt Lake City, Utah, Michelle M. Duzan and her partner Christopher Hughes of Braintree, Matthew T Smith and his wife Amy of Lincoln, RI, and Erin K. Smith of Holbrook. She is also survived by twelve amazing grandchildren: Grace, Anderson, Jacob Thomas, Zachary, Hannah, Cameron, Connor, Aiden, Brendan, Amber, Jacob Daniel, and Caleb and four great grandchildren: Thomas, Jacob James, DeLyla, and Amaya.
Raised in Hough’s Neck, Maureen grew up as the oldest of ten children. She is survived by Patricia Nichol, Robert Dunn Jr., Lorraine Principi, Timothy Dunn, James Dunn, Daniel Dunn, and Kathleen Tracey. She was also predeceased by beloved siblings Michael Dunn and Clare Hynes. She was a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Quincy.
