Michael X. Chiu, 68, of Lexington, passed away during the evening hours of Saturday August 24, 2024 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington following a period of declining health. He was the devoted husband of nearly 40 years to Yenny (Tam) Chiu.
Born in Beijing, he came to the U.S. where he met and married his beloved Yenny in Boston.
Mr. Chiu was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a computer programmer for many years.
He will always be remembered for his love, commitment and unwavering devotion to his family. Without exception, Michael always put his family first; and no one had a bigger heart than he. He was extremely hardworking and handy. He always sought to improve his family’s life-skills by teaching them how to troubleshoot and solve problems. Being mechanically inclined, he imparted his knowledge and skills to his children so that they would become self-reliant. It was in his giving nature to always be generous to his loved ones while maintaining strict frugality for himself. He truly lived for -and greatly loved- his family beyond measure. Michael will always be remembered as one of the greatest men to those who had the privilege to know him.
In addition to his beloved bride, Yenny (Tam) Chiu, he is survived by his daughter Jessica Dooher and her husband Timothy, and his son Allen Chiu and his wife Amy. Cherished grandfather of Jasmine, Christopher and Owen. Also survived by extended family and many dear friends.
