Michael J. Courtney, age 65, of Hanover, formerly of Boston, Jamaica Plain and Roslindale passed away at South Shore Hospital from complications of Interstitial Lung Disease in the comfort of his loving family, Tuesday August 13, 2024.
Michael was born in Boston to the late Daniel Courtney and the late Marie (Rockwell) Courtney. Michael was employed as an MBTA bus driver for 24 years. After retiring he was a stay at home Dad to his beloved two young sons. Michael cherished time spent with his family. He loved watching sports, listening to oldies music, was a car enthusiast and had an immense sweet tooth.
Loving husband for 25 years of Maria (Stearns) Courtney of Hanover. Devoted father of Nicholas Courtney and James Courtney, both of Hanover and his adored Goldendoodle, Teddy. Dear brother of Daniel Courtney and his wife Claire, of Bridgewater, Stephen Courtney of Piney Flats, Tennessee, Mary (Courtney) Meekins and her husband Greg of Bridgewater. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial Celebration Of Life will be held at Our Lady of the Angels formerly St Mary's, 392 Hanover Street, Hanover on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 9:00 AM
