Michael P. Neff, 56, of Abington, MA, passed away suddenly on August 25, 2021. Michael was the beloved son of the late Ira and Lorraine (Depot) Neff. He leaves his brother David Neff and his wife Sandy Judge, of Warwick, RI, his sisters Donna Neff of Vero Beach, FL, Jen Neff of Fall River, MA, and Mary Neff of Pawtucket, RI. Michael also leaves several nieces and nephews with whom he enjoyed keeping in touch with on social media.
Michael grew up in the Conimicut Village neighborhood of Warwick, RI, and graduated from Toll Gate High School where he studied carpentry in the Vocational and Technical Center.
Michael had a passion for art and cooking. He was a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, from which he obtained an Associate’s degree in Art History. He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. He enjoyed preparing meals for his family and friends.
Michael was an avid gardener who took great pride in his garden in addition to designing and maintaining gardens for several of his neighbors. It was a common sight at Stonegate Square, where he lived, to see Michael with his wagon tending to his pride and joy.
Michael had a love of animals, especially his cats, and will be missed by Sebastian, Curly, and the late Cody.
Michael’s faith was a large part of his life. He was a Sexton at Trinity Episcopal Church in Rockland, MA, where he considered the congregation to be an extension of his family.
Michael had a deep love for his chosen family, especially his partner Jace Douse of Weymouth, MA, and dear friends James Hickey and Brian Gillis of Abington, MA.
Michael had a smile and a hug for everyone and will be missed by all who knew him.
Cremation is being handled by Glenn Davis at Hamel-Lydon Chapel & Cremation Service of Massachusetts in Quincy.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Michael at a later date.
