Michael Smith Obituary

Michael Angelo Smith, 54, of Randolph, formerly of Quincy, MA, passed away on June 14,
2020, after a long battle with cancer.  Michael was born on October 14, 1965, to Paul and Alice
Smith of Port Charlotte, FL., formerly of Quincy, MA.
Whether you called this inspiring man son, brother, cousin, Uncle Mike, or Mikey; you were
lucky enough to know him and be surrounded by his unconditional love, warmth and don’t forget
his jokes and contagious laughter. He had a smile on his face no matter what challenges he
was facing. He has always been a warrior and a trooper. Michael was a diehard fan of all New
England Sports teams none too big or small! Whether he was assisting the managers of the
North Quincy football team, watching his brother play on the field, or even catching the big
Quincy vs. North Quincy Thanksgiving day game with his family. Mike loved being part of his
home town team! He was happy to be anywhere watching a game; whether at a spring training
game in Fort Myers with his parents, a home game in the bleachers at Fenway park or watching
a game in his favorite comfy recliner. He was a lover of music, always asking “what’s your
song?”, for any artist he was listening to at the time. Michael was rarely spotted without his
headphones that were always a little too loud. Michael lived for family parties. He loved visiting
the campground where he was surrounded by his aunts and uncles, brothers and sister, nieces
and nephews and parents every summer. Michael always seemed to be the center of attention,
no matter the occasion! He loved being surrounded by the love and laughter of his family,
especially when there were his dad’s meatballs!
Michael above all else loved his family.  He was an amazing son, a wonderful brother and a
proud uncle, our Superman!
Michael is survived by his parents, Paul Smith and Alice Farren Smith of Port Charlotte, FL.,
formerly of Quincy, MA.  His sister Mary  Smith Thomas of Plymouth, MA., his brother, Paul
Smith, Jr. of Quincy, MA (wife Karen) and his brother Marc Smith of Springvale, ME (wife
Karen).  Michael is also survived by 5 Nieces, 5 Nephews and a Great Niece and 4 Great
Nephews and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
The date for a Celebration of Michael’s life will be announced later.
Michael will be deeply missed by all.
