Michael J. King, a 54-year-old resident of Quincy, Massachusetts, passed away on October 1, 2024, at Lahey Hospital following a short illness.
Born and raised in Quincy, Michael was the youngest of nine children born to the late Paul F. and Catherine F. (Dignan) King. He attended Quincy schools and was an extremely talented finish carpenter for many years, working both for private contractors and independently, serving the Quincy and South Shore areas.
In addition to his exceptional carpentry skills, Michael was also an amazing cook, creating delicious meals for his family and friends. Especially around the holidays. He had a deep love for the water and enjoyed fishing and boating, but his fondest moments were those spent with his family and loved ones.
Michael is survived by his loving siblings: Diane Bailey of Quincy and her late husband Tom, Bob King and his wife Brenda of Whitman, Alane Berta and her husband Pierre of Squantum, the late Geri King, Paula King of Miami, Janice Sardelli and her husband Stefano of Braintree, Christine Smith of Braintree, and Matthew King and his wife Debbie of Weymouth. He was a cherished uncle to Timothy, Patrick, Natalie, Catherine, Alexandra, Nicholas, Steven, the late Daniel, Abigail, Dehlia, Meridith, Kaleigh, and Shaelyn. He also leaves behind a large extended family and many friends.
Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock St, Quincy.
