Oscar’s life started at the beginning of the Great Depression, so he grew up with a strong work ethic and a knack for making things work. He was a self taught man, attending public school until the 5th grade at which point he needed to help the family through hard times. He signed up to join the Army/Air Force as a very young man and was stationed in Libya, Paris, and Cold Bay Alaska as a communications specialist. While stationed at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, he met and married his wife Carol in 1950. He served for another 5 years before leaving the military and utilizing his talents at AT&T. Taking an early retirement at age 55, Oscar and Carol traveled the country and settled at Elephant Butte, NM. In 2016, the happy couple relocated to MA and enjoyed a few years of New England.
Oscar passed at the Berkeley Retirement home in Lawrence, MA on July 16, 2023 at the age of 94. He resided there with his wife Carol for two years and received tremendous loving and compassionate care from the staff. He will be interred at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, NM.
