Rain A. Chenette, 69, of Houghs Neck, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, surrounded by love and light.
Born to the late Edward Drohan and Patricia (Hogard), Rain was a devoted and loving mother who raised her five children in Houghs Neck and stayed closely involved in their lives and activities. She had a gentle strength and a heart full of care, always happiest when surrounded by family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Rain found joy in life’s simple pleasures — sunny days at the beach, quiet moments at home, and spontaneous rides to the Pumpy. More than anything, she loved being a mother and spending time with children. Her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the kind of love that made everyone feel welcome.
She worked for many years with Quincy Public Schools in the Transportation Department as an Administrative Assistant and in other roles before retiring.
Rain was the loving mother of John Chenette Jr., Michael Chenette, and Kristin Chenette, all of Quincy, and the late Matthew Chenette and the late Lucas Chenette. She was the cherished grandmother of Tyler Chenette, Natalie Chenette, Madison Chenette, Tayla Chenette, Kallie Chenette, Cole Chenette, Thomas Chenette, and Mia Pecevich.
She is also survived by her dear siblings Shawn Shaw of Ashland, Robin Burge of Framingham, and Scott Drohan of Quincy, and was predeceased by her brother Edward Drohan. Rain leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends -all of whom were touched by her kindness and spirit.
Rain’s legacy lives on in her children, her grandchildren, and the love she poured into every part of her life. Though she has left this world, her presence will forever be felt in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
