Richard G. Anshewitz, 77, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born in 1943 in Boston, Massachusetts to John and Clara (Simens) Anshewitz.
Richie, as he was known to family and friends, grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from Boston Trade High School in Boston, Massachusetts in 1960. After high school he joined the United States Air Force in 1961 and served for 5 years. He was honorably discharged in 1965.
Richard worked hard to provide for his family. He worked for a number of years at Gillette then later he became a Mail Handler for the US Postal Service working at the General Mail Facility in Boston for over 20 years.
Richard married Regina Grogan in 1969. Richard and Regina settled their family in Quincy, MA and were married for 49 years until her death in 2018.
When Richard wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and betting on horse racing. Richard loved life and he was well loved by all who knew him.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Regina (Grogan) Anshewitz, his brothers, John and James Anshewitz and his parents, John and Clara (Simens) Anshewitz.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Tracey Erskine and her husband, Jeffrey, of Westminster, MA; his daughter, Tara McDonough and her husband, David, of Weymouth, MA as well as his grandchildren, Ashley and Jarrod Erskine. Additionally, he will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and dear friends.
