Richard Constantino Obituary

Richard Constantino, affectionally known as Richie, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.   Richie was a unique and special person who was loved deeply by many people.   Richie was born in 1943 of Italian heritage and was the second child of the late Alice (Ferragamo) and George Constantino, whom he lovingly cared for providing them with the highest quality of life until they passed peacefully.   He was born in the Forest Hills section of Boston and spent most of his life in the Readville neighborhood of Boston until moving to Milton 10 years ago.  He leaves behind his older brother John Constantino of Readville, his younger sister Ann Devine and her husband Philip of Braintree, and his younger brother Francis (“Franny”) Constantino and his wife Colleen of Mansfield.   Richie lived in Milton with his nephew and godchild Christopher Devine and his wife Audra as well as their three daughters Cami, Elle and Rosie.   Richie was like a father to the three kids, “his girls”.  He was instrumental in their upbringing and care, and they love him dearly. His nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Devine and wife Nicole, Shannon Colantonio, Danell Rezendez and husband Randy, Jamie Constantino, Tony Constantino and fiancé Jennifer, Jillian Serra and husband Tony, his late nephew Johnny Constantino, and 20 great nieces and nephews are among the many who love him beyond measure.

He had a countless number of friends, Georgette Nedder, Carole Barletta, Ann Marie and Joe DiSanto are among the many who will miss him immensely. Richie was a devout catholic, supported by Sister Ann Susan Villa and Father Ed Nedder.  Richie spent the last 60 years as a talented interior designer and hairdresser.  He spent 40 of those years operating his own business - Salon 25.  Over the years he served hundreds of clients, many of them becoming life-long friends.  At 79, he continued to work every week, serving his clients and friends with laughter and enthusiasm.  Richie loved the arts, the theatre, opera and classical music.  He traveled extensively during his life with family and friends making over 10 trips to parts of Italy, as well as trips to London, Greece, Columbia, and all over the United States. Richie thoroughly enjoyed entertaining, may it be throwing an extravagant party or just sharing cocktails and hors d’oeuvres with friends on the front porch. He radiated class, even while enunciating colorful language.

What made Richie an amazing person was not just his vibrant personality, but the love, compassion and dedication he regularly displayed to family and friends in his everyday life.   Richie will receive the send off he deserves with a funeral mass at St. Elizabeth’s Church (350 Reedsdale Rd. Milton) on Tuesday, March 14 at 12pm, immediately followed by a cocktail reception in his honor. A live stream of the services will be available Tuesday August 24th at 11am, please visit the home page at https://www.visitationmilton.org/mass-schedule  Flowers or plants can be sent to Hamel-Lydon Chapel (650 Hancock St. Quincy) and will be delivered to Richie’s reception.    Any donation in Richie’s memory may be sent to WGBH Classical Radio PO Box 55875 Boston, MA 02135 or wgbh.org.
