Ronald “Ronnie” Shea passed away peacefully on Friday July 25,2025 with his wife and daughter by his side at his home in Dorchester, where he was a lifelong resident. He suffered a long battle with cancer and passed away at the age of 67 on his late mother’s 100th birthday.
He was the son of the late Norman Shea and Barbara(Mader) Shea. He is survived by his 2 brothers, 2 sisters and many nephews and cousins.
Ronald was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Piccinin) Shea. He was the light of her life for over 39 years. He was the proud father of Jessica Shea of Dorchester and Kevin Anthony Piccinin, his wife Katie (Talbot)Piccinin, their daughter Julia and grandson Anthony Piccinin of West Roxbury.
Ronald (Rondo, BigRon, Sheazo) was a hard worker and very dedicated to every job he ever held. He retired from the Braintree Police Department in April, where he grew to respect and care for all of his coworkers and was lucky to call many of them his friends.
His infectious sense of humor and ability to make anyone laugh left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Ronald had a life-long love of the Boston Bruins and enjoyed deep sea fishing in Newburyport. He also loved nothing more than the Christmas season.
Above all, Ron’s journey was made easier by the comfort and companionship of his beloved dog, Libby who he called “his pretty girl and his blessing”. Ron also adored Sky, with whom he shared an incredible bond and adored deeply.
He will be sorely missed but always be remembered in the hearts of those who loved and cared for him.
