Ruth (Horigan) Marrocco passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024, surrounded by the loving warmth of her family. Ruth was born to Paul and Ruth Horigan in Boston, MA, on August 11, 1937. She grew up enjoying the Quincy harbors, swimming, boating, and waterskiing with her six brothers and sisters.
Ruth was a devoted stay-at-home mother, caring for her four children and her husband, Constantino Alfred Marrocco. In earlier years, Ruth and Al took annual winter vacations to Siesta Key, Florida. Everyone benefited from Ruth’s love of cooking and baking for family and friends. She hosted wonderful family gatherings during the holidays and summers at their Quincy beachfront home, where extended family always felt welcome.
Sadly, Ruth lost her husband early but continued his legacy by managing the family restaurant, Custy’s on Sea Street in Quincy. Keeping with tradition, Ruth began vacationing with her children in the British Virgin Islands at her uncle's house on Tortola. A tradition her children have continued. She went on to manage Fenno House Senior Living until she retired at seventy. Many people adored Ruth for her caring nature and the assistance she provided to those transitioning into senior housing. She was also known for her stunning sense of fashion and classy demeanor, creating a magnificent wardrobe that was often shared (secretly) with her daughters.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her sisters: Joanie Horigan, Marie(Horigan) Viola, Carol (Horigan) Rand, and her brother Bobby Horigan. She is survived by her loving brothers, Paul Horigan Jr., James Horigan and step sister Barbara Gilmartin.
Ruth will be deeply missed by her family, who loved her dearly. She is survived by her four children: Christine (Marrocco) Drew, Lisa (Marrocco) Nasuti, Mark Marrocco and his wife Dorothy, and David Marrocco and his wife Susan. Ruth is also survived by 13 beloved grandchildren: Randall Drew, Leah (Drew) Manna and her husband Joe, Ryan Drew and his fiancée Laura McElroy, Timothy Nasuti and his wife Carissa, Nolan Nasuti, Katrina (Nasuti) Savard and her husband Eric, Mark A. Marrocco Jr., Synjen Marrocco and his wife Kayland, Chance Marrocco, Arie Marrocco, Savannah Marrocco, Dallas Marrocco and Constantino Nicolas Marrocco and four great-grandchildren: Ariana Manna, Jaxson Manna, Nolan Savard, and Anthony Nasuti. Ruth was also a beloved aunt that will be dearly missed by many close nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at St. Ann Parish, located at 757 Hancock Street, Quincy, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024. A private burial will take place at a later date.
