Sandra "Sandy" L. (Caramanica) Jones

Sandra “Sandy” L. Jones (Caramanica) has passed on to Heaven peacefully in the comfort of her family on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025.  Sandy was born in Quincy on May 3rd, 1945.  She graduated from Quincy High School in 1963 and went on to work various jobs before retiring from Verizon in her later years. 

Sandy had many hobbies such as playing bingo, cooking holiday dinners for the neighbors in her building and spending cherished time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, listening to music, and doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren in their earlier years. 

Sandy will be sorely missed by her children Michelle Whalen and her husband Glen of Quincy, Lisa Butterfield and her partner John Mullane of Holbrook, Kelly Jones of Quincy, and John Jones of Quincy. Sandy is predeceased by her parents John C. and Vera E. (Chiavaroli) Caramanica of Braintree. She also is a dear sister to John Caramanica Jr. and the late Laura Belgrave of Florida, Lynne Miste and her husband Rocco of Quincy, James Caramanica and his wife Lynne of Norton, the late Robert and Paul Caramanica, and the late Gayle Campbell and her husband Joseph of Braintree. 

Beloved “Nana Sandy” to her grandchildren Cameron Buonopane, Lindsey Gravenkemper and her husband Carl, Kylie, Julie and Jason Whalen, Casey O’Connell, and Joc Jones. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Most Blessed Sacrament Church on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 10:30am, 1031 Sea Street Quincy, MA, 02169. To be followed by a Catholic Inurnment at Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West Street Braintree, MA, 02184.
