Shue Thoon “John” Lee, age 83 of Boston Chinatown and Quincy passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2023, surrounded by his family at Tufts Medical Center.
Born 1939 in the Kung Yee Village in China’s Guangdong Province to Lee Tak Shing and Chan Chuk Tong. Shue moved to Hong Kong in 1952 then graduated from Tak Ming College in 1965 with a degree in Chinese Language and Literature. He immigrated to the United States in 1973 with his family.
He worked very hard his entire life for his family mostly in the restaurant industry. He enjoyed traveling, photography, Chinese calligraphy and art, studying English, watching Boston Celtics basketball games and cherished spending time with his friends and family. He will always be remembered for his kind, friendly manner and sense of humor.
Shue Thoon Lee is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Siu Ying Lee and four sons, Henry Lee and his wife Ivy and daughter Ruby, George Lee, Michael Lee and his wife Wendy and daughter Estella, and Jimmy Lee and his wife Nyryan and sons Quinton and Lucas. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visiting Hours on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 9:30-12pm at Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock Street, Quincy. A procession will leave the funeral home at 12:30pm for interment at Central Cemetery, 327 North Street, Randolph.
