Theresa Marie Kennedy, 97, of Quincy died Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Windrose of Weymouth Assisted Living Facility.
Theresa was born in Nova Scotia and was a proud Cape Bretoner. Her Scottish and Gaelic heritage was an important part of her everyday life from her delicious baked goods, home décor, and music. She enjoyed a good Ceilidh with her brother-in-law, Willie Kennedy, playing fiddle.
She loved her family most of all. She was one of 11 children born to John H and Margaret (MacDonald) MacNeil. She was a twin. She and Florence (Neville) remained in close contact despite the physical distance. They would talk on the phone every Friday evening at 6 PM.
Theresa was proceeded by her husband, Alexander Joseph Kennedy, her parents and her siblings. She was the cherished mother of Alexander “Keith” Kennedy and his wife, Hope of Jericho, VT and Bonnie O’Neill and her husband Daniel of East Falmouth, MA. “Nana” to Christian O’Neill and his wife Jennifer Grahm of Quincy, Mathew O’Neill and his wife Nicole Bishop of South Boston, MA, Darren Kennedy and his wife Amber Spence of Richmond, VT, and Ryan Kennedy of Jericho, VT. Great-grandmother to Lillie and Camden Kennedy of Richmond, VT. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hour at Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA Monday July 6, 2026, from 8:30-9:30 followed by a mass at 10 AM at Divine Mercy Parish 386 Hancock Street, North Quincy, MA 02171. Internment will be a Christian burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Croi Health Hospice, Norwell, MA or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
