Thomas Boyne Obituary

Thomas W. Boyne passed away the evening of November 11, 2021. A day that was very important to him as veteran. Tom was very proud of his rank as Sargent in the 4th infantry of the United States Army and of his tours of duty in the Panama Canal and Vietnam during his tour he earned many accommodations including National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Lee. He was born February 17, 1944. To James C. And Malay Bianco Boyne. He graduated from Lee High School where he played football. After his tour of duty in the Army he started work in GE in Pittsfield, retiring after 30 years. In between high school and retiring, Tom, raised two sons Timothy (Tim) and Andrew (Andy) instilling in them the love for football, hunting and fishing. Tom volunteered with Lee High Gridiron for years and became President, all the while he never missed his boys football games. He proudly earned the nick name T-Bone. He was a retired member of the Lee Fire Department.

Through the years, Tom, had many passions. He enjoyed weekends away to watch his son, Tim, play college football. One of those weekends he brought along, a wonderful lady with him, Christine McCormack. She became his life partner, celebrating their 27th anniversary in October. He loved helping his son Andy, build his home and cut wood. He was so proud of Andy's hunting, always showing off picture of this year's big buck. Tom enjoyed many, many holidays feasts with Chris's family.  Chris's granddaughters, Ahna and Katy became his pride and joy as he spent many years as their Papa, chauffeuring to school and camp and volleyball.  Tom totally enjoyed his hunting buddies and deer week at “The Deer Camp.”  Although, not many deer were hanging ant the end of the week, there were many good meals, laughs, songs and awards won, during that week.

In Tom's later years he enjoyed taking rides with Chris to find a nice restaurant, going to volleyball games, mowing lawns, tinkering with engines and sitting in his favorite chair beside Chris.

Tom is survived by his sons Timothy and Andrew, his beloved Christine, and his sister, Sally Bak.

Tom will be remembered for sense of humor, his giving nature and his compassion to help and support all that were near and dear to him.
