Vincent Adler Obituary

Vincent “Vinny” Donald Adler of Quincy passed away peacefully surrounded by his family February 17th.  Vinny was born on August 16, 1960, at the US naval Hospital in Chelsea, MA.  Born and raised in Quincy.  Vinny was a veteran of the US Army where he was proud of his service.  He had many jobs after returning from the service.  He worked at sew fisticated for several years before changing his career to a long-distance truck driver.  He loved being on the open road seeing other states and returning home to share his experiences with his son Eric.  Vinny was an avid sports fan of all sports.  He loved fishing with his son but was never a fan of eating what he caught.  His favorite pastimes were the three stooges, Monty Python, Westerns and game shows.  He was a gentle giant who loved to surround himself around family being the star of the show with his animated faces.  Vinny loved animals, especially Shady, his cat who often communicated loudly to him. 

Survived by his son Eric Adler of Quincy.  Loving brother of Susan Adler and the late Daniel and James (Jimbo) Adler.  Cherished Uncle of Justin of Quincy, Amanda and Rebecca both of FL.  Life partner of Anita Perkins of Quincy.  Son of the late Albert and Flora (Bain) Adler.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews who he adored and enjoyed spending time with.  He had a loving nickname for each of them.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the Visiting hours Tuesday February 25th 2-5 PM in the Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock St., Quincy.  A funeral Service for Vinny will take place at 4:30 during visiting hours.  Burial will be private.
